Is there a time limit on Social Security disability benefits?

Well, there is a time limit on filing for Social Security disability benefits, and a time limit for the adjudication. If you wait any more than five years after the date that you last worked full time, you may no longer be insured for for Social Security disability benefits. So, time is of the essence. If you think you’re disabled do not wait. File your claim and then everything will be taken care of after that. But it makes it really, really difficult if you file a claim after five years and then try to go back and prove a forensic case as to proving a case that’s presently alive and well.
