What is the Social Security disability hearing like?

The Social Security disability hearing will be normally held at the office of Social Security Disability Adjudication and Review. That's slightly different from your home office where the Social Security claim is filed. There will be a judge there,. There will be a reporter there of sorts. There will be a vocational evaluator there. There will be you and your attorney. The judge will be up at the top of the podium. He's got his place up there and he will hear your case. Everybody else is below him. It's informal. It's not a typical courthouse, but it is a courtroom. I’d advise you to dress appropriately and be respectful.
