If I think I have a Social Security disability claim, what do I need to do?

If you have a Social Security disability claim, or at least if you think you do, you might want to talk it over with an attorney first to see if you have one. If you do have one, then you should go down to the Social Security office and file. Make sure that you have all your doctors names, addresses and telephone numbers, so Social Security can get all those records for you. If you think you have a claim, go down and file. It’s not going to prejudice you, if you don't ever you get turned down or if you're able to go to work later on. It's something you're guaranteed under our laws to get, so it's better off that you pursue your rights rather than sit on them
