When does the Workers' Compensation carrier have to pay me for my lost work?

According to the law, no compensation is allowed for the first 7 days of disability expect benefits provided in Chap 440.13. However, if the injury results in disability of more than 21 days, compensation shall be allowed from the commencement of the disability onward. Essentially, there is a 7 day elimination period that employee is self insured for until he is actually disabled for 21 days and then the 7 day elimination period is dropped and the injured employee paid for his lost wages owed during this time.
