Will the ALJ ask me about my light household chores?

Yes. You may be asked how have your household chores been affected by your disability? Do you wash dishes less often, drop dishes, let dishes pile up, I only use a dishwasher or put things where you can reach them because of your physical problems. Do you let your spouse/housemate do dishes. Do you clean the house less often or is the house is more of a mess because of your condition. Do others help with cleaning, have you had to hire a housekeeper or need to rest after short periods of cleaning the house. You may be asked if you can do only light dusting or cannot vacuum, cannot scrub floor or use a stick mop. Can you kneel or bend to clean low spots, climb a ladder make the bed daily, scrub the tub. You may be asked how and if you still do the laundry, need help with the wash, do repetitive folding, iron or do clothes less often. You may be asked to describe who helps with laundry and what he/she does. You may be asked if you still do yard work or garden or why you cannot use a lawnmower or why you stopped gardening or now have others do my yard work or do your pet care or had to give away your pet or let/hired others to care for yourpet.. You will most certainly be asked if you cook and if so, how often? Do you cook only simple meals? Do you cook only for yourself? Are you limited to heating meals or use of microwave? Are you unable to lift a gallon of milk (9lbs) without two hands or without any trouble? You may be asked if you go to the store alone, shop for groceries? Do you require help with the groceries and if so, who helps you with the groceries and how do they help? You may be asked Do you:not shop alone or shop when store is not crowded, rest while shopping or use cart to lean on, buy more convenience foods or limit shopping to bread, eggs, not buy gallons, but ½ gallons instead or buy predominantly microwave able foods.
