Amount Adjustments for 2007

The Social Security Administration increased in Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) amount for individuals with disabilities, other than blindness, from $860 to $900 for 2007. See also our basic information on how we define disability.

The Social Security Administration increased the SGA amount for individuals who are blind from $1,450 to $1,500 for 2007. See also our basic information on how we define disability.

The Social Security Administration increased the monthly earnings amount that they use to determine if a month counts for the Trial Work Period (TWP) from $620 to $640 for 2007. See also Social Security Administration information on a plan to achieve self-support (PASS).

For 2007, the Social Security Administration increased the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Federal Benefit Rates (FBR) from $603 for an eligible individual and from $904 to $934 for an eligible couple. See also our information on who decides if you are disabled.

The Social Security Administration increased the income amounts that will have no effect on eligibility or benefits for SSI beneficiaries who are students. For 2007, the Social Security Administration increased the monthly amount from $1,460 to $1,510 and the yearly maximum from $5,910 to $6,100. See also SSA chapter, SSI Employer Supports.
